Safeguarding Information

At Kempston Rural Primary School, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where every child can thrive — emotionally, socially and academically.

We follow robust safeguarding procedures in line with national guidance and local authority protocols. All staff receive regular training and updates to ensure they are confident in recognising and responding to any concerns. Our Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) are there for the welfare of children and to support pupils, staff and families.

Safeguarding at our school includes:

  • A strong culture of vigilance and care
  • Clear policies and procedures for child protection
  • Safe recruitment practices
  • Ongoing staff training and development
  • Support for pupils’ mental health and wellbeing
  • Online safety education and monitoring
  • Close partnerships with parents, carers, and external agencies

We believe safeguarding is a shared responsibility and work closely with families to ensure children feel safe and supported both in and out of school.

If you have concerns about a child's safety or well-being, please contact a member of our Designated Safeguarding Team. In emergencies, reach out to the police for assistance.
